Nate Downey joined Peoples Company in January 2023. He is based out of the Indianola office in central Iowa. Nate grew up in Indianola, Iowa, and later obtained a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Agricultural Systems Technology with a focus on biosystems. Starting his career in the swine industry, he amplifies his expertise in livestock production and facilities into his work. Nate has experience working closely with large contractors and integrators on projects ranging from daily farm operations to complex construction projects. He holds his background responsible for his intuitive problem-solving skills, process-driven thinking, and down-to-earth approach. Nate is focused on providing those he serves with a grounded and practical approach to land management. He believes that agriculture is built on sustainability and strong relationships. That’s why he is determined to expand his land management skills, striving to benefit the landowner's best interests.

Nate credits his passion for agriculture to his heavy involvement in the Indianola FFA chapter growing up. He enjoys working alongside young leaders in agriculture and believes in the future of farming. That is why each year he looks forward to helping future members start their journey by purchasing blue jackets for those who can’t afford to do so. In his free time, he explores his passion for the outdoors by chasing upland game and white deer alongside his german shorthair pointer, Boone. Nate looks forward to the future of agriculture and building long-lasting relationships in the land management business
