Peoples Company
History
Peoples Company’s proud history began in the 1960s and was established in the farm management department of Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Indianola, Iowa.
In 1972, the farm management department and real estate brokerage separated from the bank into what is now known as Peoples Company. In 2002, the current ownership team acquired the majority interest of the company and began building the foundation for the organization we are today and the future growth of the Peoples Company brand.
In 2008, Peoples Company launched the Land Investment Expo — an annual conference that brings together major players in the land business. Keynote speakers have included Jim Rogers (2013), T. Boone Pickens (2014), Donald Trump (2015), Mary Matalin and James Carville (2016), Ben Stein (2017), Kevin O’Leary (2018), Martha Stewart (2019), and Jon Meacham and Anthony Scaramucci (2020). The Land Investment Expo is the cornerstone of the company’s marketing efforts and has positioned Peoples Company as one of the leading brokerages in the country. Peoples Company strives to recruit and retain the best people in the land business, and as such, the company has consistently been named a “Top Brokerage in America” and a “Top 30 Auction House” by the Land Report, an industry-leading publication targeted toward the American landowner.
