PRICE/ACRE UPDATE

The number of auctions was slightly higher this last week compared to previous weeks. There were 17 tracts of land sold at auction between February 11th and February 17th. During these auctions, there was a total of 1,619 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 1,268 +/- were tillable acres.  Overall, the sale results were “good” with several “strong” sales. There were no tracts that were a “no sale”.  The Price/Acre ranged from $3,500/acre for a tillable/pasture/timber tract in southeastern Iowa to $11,600/acre for a tillable tract in northeastern Iowa. The average Dollar ($) / Tillable CSR2 point for the tracts that successfully sold is $108/CSR2 point.  

A few of the highlights from last week:

  • 76.3 acres of tillable land sold in Buchanan County for $11,600/acre with a CSR2 of 85.3
  • 196 acres of tillable land & pasture land sold in Howard County for $4,525/acre with a CSR2 of 76.8 on the tillable land
  • 80 acres of tillable land sold in Franklin County for $10,025/acre with a CSR2 of 78.8
  • 95.3 acres of tillable land sold in Keokuk County for $7,350/acre with a CSR2 of 77
  • 107.2 acres of tillable land sold in Madison County for $8,950/acre with a CSR2 of 77.1
